Production and delivery time
The Doxdirect online printing and binding service is available 24/7, enabling you to upload and order printed documents at any time. Our production facility operates every day with the exception of Sundays and public holidays. When placing your order and selecting processing and delivery options, we ask you to please bear this in mind and allow sufficient time for your order to be processed.
At Doxdirect we differentiate between production (or ‘turnaround’) and delivery.
- Production time is how long it takes to produce your printed items, according to the production option you’ve chosen.
- Delivery time is how long it takes the delivery service to collect your order from us and bring it to you, in addition to the production time.
Our standard production time is 2 days, excluding Sundays and public holidays, and we also offer a ‘same day and ‘next day’ service for orders which are more urgent. Delivery time is in addition to production time.
Production options
Production (also known as ‘turnaround’ or ‘processing’) is the time it takes to process your order, print and bind your documents, and prepare them for despatch. This is separate from and in addition to delivery time.
Same day production
Orders will be produced the same day as the order is placed, and despatched the same day, as long as the order is received by 3pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays) or 11am Saturday. Please note that production is separate to delivery and we do not advertise as being a ‘same day printing delivery service’, but it is possible to receive your documents the day after placing the order (or on the following Monday if ordering with same day production on a Saturday) by choosing same day production along with a courier delivery option. Same day production is not available on Sundays or bank holidays.
Next day production
Orders will be produced and despatched the following day (excluding Sundays and public holidays) from the day of receipt of your order. So if you order on Monday then your document will be shipped on Tuesday. If you order on Saturday then your document will be despatched on Monday.
Please note that next day production is not the same as next day delivery. It refers to the production time only, and delivery time is additional.
Standard two day production
Orders will be produced and then despatched within 2 days (excluding Sundays and public holidays) from the day of receipt of your order. So if you order on Monday then your document will be shipped on Wednesday. If you order on Saturday then your document will be despatched on Tuesday.
Delivery options
UK Tracked – FREE on orders above £10
Your order will typically be despatched with Royal Mail Tracked. Depending on destination, weight and courier collection times, we may, on occasion, use UK Mail and UPS for domestic deliveries. All orders £10 and above receive this delivery service free of charge, for orders under £10, this option is priced at £3.49.
International Tracked – FREE on orders above £20
Your order will typically be despatched with Royal Mail International Tracked. Depending on destination, weight and courier collection times, we may, on occasion, use DHL for international deliveries. Your order will be delivered by the local post service in that country. The delivery date is estimated only, but broadly speaking the deliveries to mainland Europe take 3-4 days, and 6-10 days for the rest of the world, although it may take significantly longer for some destinations. For orders under £20, there is a £9.99 charge when using this option.
Despatch and delivery dates
When you use our Price Calculator to get an instant quote for your order and on the checkout page, the despatch date (the day your order leaves our print facility) and the delivery date will be displayed clearly.
Returns policy
Doxdirect offers a ‘Love us or your money back’ guarantee. If you’re unhappy with your order, return it and we will reprint it or refund you. The address to return your order to is on our Contact page. Please email us first so that we can investigate and arrange your reprint or refund, or reply to your order confirmation email with details. Please note that if you want to return an order because it has arrived too late or has gone missing, Doxdirect will only refund or reprint if the order has not arrived within 7 days after it was despatched. For international orders the wait period is 14 days.
